Scenic hikes are my favorite during the autumn season. Dedicating a few hours to admire the beautiful transformation of the trees while catching up with friends is so therapeutic in my opinion, and makes for some of the best memories this time of year. Exactly one year ago on this day of October, I drove my childhood friend and me to Saffins Pond, New Jersey for some fun exploring and friendly exercise.
We enjoyed our afternoon circling around the pond, finding branches suitable enough for walking sticks, and soaking in the pretty scenery around us. We let our minds wander to different topics of conversation, and playfully skipped across the rocks and trails as if age didn’t define us. We often stopped by the pond to just be still and feel the warmth of the sun. The weather was pleasant enough that we didn’t have to bother to wear our jackets.
As a side-note, I normally don’t use iPhone photos for my blogposts since they're not the best pixel resolution (which is why I hesitated to post this last year!). But I think in this case, I’ll allow the fun memories and amazing scenic views captured through my iPhone camera make up for that!
Have you gone on any scenic hikes with friends this autumn? Are you excited for tomorrow being Halloween? (It's right around the bend!)
If you're in the mood for watching some spooky videos, check out my latest vlog where my family and I do some fun Halloween activities in Sleepy Hollow, New York. We packed a lot into our night-out including a headless horseman tour and a visit to the Great Jack O'Lantern Blaze!
